About This Video

In this episode of Jason’s Bricks in 5, I’m reviewing something a little different from the usual LEGO City stuff: the Pantasy Retro Collection Stained Glass Table Lamp (Set 85042). It’s a 1,067-piece build that’s clearly going for that classic Tiffany stained-glass look, and honestly, it pulls it off. The dome uses a bunch of translucent elements and some really nice printed parts—especially the dragonfly wings—plus printed blue curves and green pieces that sell the “stained glass” vibe way better than I expected. The big twist here is that it’s a working brick-built lamp with a lighting kit included. You plug it in via USB (USB-C on the lamp), route the wire up through the base using clips so it doesn’t get pinched, and then build a surprisingly convincing “light bulb” assembly that holds four LEDs inside. It’s not a reading lamp, but it does put out a fair amount of light and looks great on display. At $69.99 on Amazon, I think it’s a solid value considering the parts count and the lighting, and you can use my code JB5LAMP1 for an extra discount if you decide to grab one.
