About This Video

In this video I finally give you an early overview of my new LEGO City layout—warts and all. I’ll be honest: earlier in the day I was completely spiraling. Half the city ended up on the floor, and I was genuinely questioning whether I can be trusted with a city build at all. After I regrouped and rebuilt it mostly how it was, I walk you through what’s in place right now and what I’m still wrestling with. The big win is getting the train back into the city, because it adds life immediately—but it also creates the classic headache of train-vs-road planning in a tight space. I also reincorporated my old waterfall, added a tunnel, and started carving out a park area (with help from my wife’s botanical build). From there I show how I’m arranging the modulars and landmarks—like Brick Cross Station, the museum, Sanctum, Corner Garage, the Parisian Restaurant, Shopping Street, Assembly Square, and the Police Station—plus why some buildings are grouped (lighting from the old layout) and why a few choices are basically “space filler” for now. The main takeaway: I’m generally happy with it again, but I’m still tweaking paths, water shaping, stairs, and overall “city life” details.
