About This Video

In this episode of Jason’s Bricks in 5, I’m talking through the 2026 LEGO Modular “Shopping Street” after I actually built it—because my first impression from the promo images was… not great. I’m one of those people where if LEGO drops a modular, I’m probably buying it (even if it looks like a simple brown box), but this one had me hung up on that tower section and how out-of-place it might feel in a city lineup. So I walk through what I liked, what still feels weird, and whether the build changed my mind. Overall, my opinion did improve once it was on the table. I like the angles and the exterior shaping (it reminds me a bit of Boutique Hotel), and the instrument builds in the music store were genuinely fun. The interior is cramped, though, and the layout is a little odd—especially the stairs situation—and yes, the toilet in the front window is still bizarre to me. At $250, it’s getting into “come on, LEGO” territory, so I recommend waiting for double VIP and a good gift-with-purchase to maximize value. I end up putting it next to Assembly Square on my lower level, where that blue tower actually blends in better than I expected, and I land at about a 7/10—middle of the pack for me.
