About This Video

This week in my Bricklink Store Diary, I had what looked like a great week… until I realized I kind of screwed up my store settings. I ended up with seven completed orders (eight were placed, but one got canceled after a Puerto Rico buyer selected “local pickup” and I invoiced with shipping). Even with that hiccup, it was still a solid week: 71 lots sold and 532 total parts, with a bunch of smaller orders (including some minifigs that finally started moving after sitting for a while). The big win was a sealed Anakin’s Jedi Starfighter I had in the backlog. I noticed there were none available in the US and Europe pricing was wild, so I listed mine at $115… and it actually sold. The big lesson, though, was shipping: I enabled a manual invoice option for sealed sets without fully setting it up, and two buyers checked out with instant checkout—meaning I charged $0 shipping and ate the cost myself. Call it a $10 lesson. I also talk inventory (I’m at about 102,029 items), what I parted out (Polyjuice Potion and a Darth Maul mech), and a quick packaging trick: I reuse small LEGO set boxes by opening the glue seam, flattening them, turning them inside out, and taping them up for loose parts. Plus, I answer a bunch of viewer questions—bulk buying, heat map ranges, feedback, and how I’m trying to keep the store from turning the hobby into a job.
