About This Video

This week’s Bricklink Store Diary is a little later in the day (still Monday though) because I had the day off work and went to help my son out. But we’re still doing the weekly update, and I’m also changing how I track the week going forward—Monday through Sunday—because Friday-to-Thursday was just annoying to keep straight. For this update window, I had 9 orders, totaling 331 lots and 2,318 parts, which is honestly one of my stronger weeks so far. I also had a couple of those “high lot, not a ton of parts” orders that are more work than they are profit, but that’s part of the game. I also had my first real “uh oh” moment with USPS: a Nevada order shipped back on January 28 looked like it might be lost in transit. Ground Advantage includes $100 insurance, so I checked with the post office on what to do (you wait 30 days, then file a claim if it’s truly lost). Luckily, it started moving again and it was delivered a couple days later. On the inventory side, I’m pushing to get more sets parted out, including several Jurassic World/Jurassic Park sets (yes—dinosaurs are in the store). I walk through my most tedious step: consolidating lots and physically moving parts into the right numbered bag/box ranges so you don’t end up with eight separate lots of the same part. We’re now at 130,022 items and 4,889 lots, and I’m aiming for 140k next.
