In this episode of Jason’s Bricks in 5, I’m cracking open my first LEGO haul of 2026—an order I placed right at the New Year cutoff (basically Dec 31 for me because of the Eastern time thing). Shipping wasn’t the issue; it was more the “getting the order out the door” part, but the box showed up in decent shape, so we’re good. I went in for one main purchase and ended up with two gifts-with-purchase, which is always a nice bonus. The big pickup is the new modular “Market Street” (Shopping Street), and I’m honestly still on the fence from the early online views. I saw it built in-store, but didn’t study it much because I figured I’d wait until it was in my hands. We’ve got what looks like a music store and some kind of furniture/chair-maker shop, plus a pigeon detail I’m already a fan of. The GWPs are the Year of the Horse set (free LEGO is free LEGO) and the “Annual Silly Hats Parade,” which… yeah, I don’t totally get the hat thing, but the little car is cool. Either way, the modular will fill one of my empty LEGO City spots, and I’ll see how I feel once it’s built.
