About This Video

In this video I’m reviewing and demoing the Wainlux K10 mini laser engraver, and the first thing you’ll notice is just how tiny it is—I can literally hold it in one hand. These small portable machines are definitely a trend right now, and I personally like them a lot if you want something easy to move, easy to store, and not crazy expensive. I walk through what you get in the box, the buttons and ports (including the TF card slot and optional rotary/air purifier ports), and I show you the real limitations too—because at 3W, this is mainly an engraving machine. I test a bunch of materials so you can see what it can actually do: MDF coasters, wood coasters and tags, popsicle-stick plant labels, cardstock (both cutting and engraving), an aluminum plate, and slate. MDF, wood, and cardstock were the standouts for me, and I also show how I focused the laser and why I ended up making a simple placement template in LightBurn to line projects up faster. I also demonstrate the offline mode using the TF card (save G-code from LightBurn, frame with the offline button, then press-and-hold to run), and I cover the safety features like the auto-stop when the lid opens and the tilt shutoff.
