One of the things I forget the most when laser engraving is the focusing step. Sure, you can slap a sticky note on the wall, but LightBurn has something way better built in: Job Checklists. In this video I walk you through setting up a checklist so LightBurn literally stops you before a job starts and asks you the question you always forget—like “Did you remember to focus?” If you click “No,” you can go do the step, then hit Start again and continue. I show you exactly where to find it under Device Settings, how to enable the Job Checklist, and how to edit the items in the list. The best part is these checklists are machine-specific, so if you run multiple lasers you can make different reminder lists for each one. And it’s not just for focus—add anything you need before you engrave or cut, like turning on your air purifier, putting on safety glasses, or switching on air assist. It’s a simple setup that can save you from wasted material and prevent those “I can’t believe I forgot that” moments.
