About This Video

In this video I walk you through exactly how I connect the xTool F1 to LightBurn, step by step. I start with the simple stuff—plug the included USB cable into the side of the F1 and into your computer—then in LightBurn I go to Devices and use Import. You’ll need the little device file from xTool (I linked it), and once you open it, LightBurn loads the F1 profile automatically. After that, you just pick “xTool F1” from the device dropdown and you’ll see the grid change to match the F1’s workspace. From there I show a quick real-world setup and test: I drop in a working plate to protect my surface, place a piece of 3mm wood, and then deal with the red and blue dots by turning the dial on the F1 until they merge. Inside LightBurn I create a simple monogram emblem, split the cut and engrave into separate layers using the color palette, and set the oval to Line (cut) and the letters to Fill (engrave). I also show where to enable Filled Rendering if your text only shows as an outline. Finally, I pull speed/power from xTool’s material settings table, frame the job to confirm placement, and run it—plus I share my usual workflow tip: engrave first, then cut, so you don’t risk the piece shifting.
