All the new art materials I've collected over the last few months, from (too much?) fancy paper to the cheapest pens, gouache paints to brushes... and what I sketched and painted with them. 🖌️ This new Irodori Gouache set (my first full size set of these!) will show up in quite a lot of art process videos, so stay tuned... And it's the start of October/Inktober/Drawtober, so I'd love to hear if you have any art challenge plans... because despite that ink fountain pen, I'm taking it easy. 😊 Shop & Portfolio : https://www.evydraws.com/shop Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/EvelynePark (Print Memberships & Sketchbook PDFs) Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/evydraws/ Etsy: https://evydraws.etsy.com https://www.inprnt.com/gallery/evybak/ (shipping prints to the EU and US) ✧ ART MATERIALS ✧ (only the ones I've already tested, used, and recommend, of course!) Arches hot pressed paper : https://amzn.to/4mDH1Zz important note: I love this for acrylics and mixed media (even pencils! anything you want a completely smooth surface for) but NOT for watercolours. I have a small sketchbook with this paper, which I use with gouache a lot, but dislike the feel of watercolours on... Holbein Irodori set : https://amzn.to/4pNKDL3 (new sketches already up on Patreon! 💛) Fountain Pen : Monami fountain pen - might be tricky to find outside Korea! Canson Aquarelle (60% cotton) worked really well for gouache here, and the texture is subtle for CP. About This Video

In this video I’m finally laying out all the new art supplies I’ve collected over the last few months and actually trying them as I go—because I love an art haul, but I love it even more when I can show you what the materials feel like on paper. It’s a very “cozy desk” kind of session: pens (yes, I’m still in my pen obsession era), paper comparisons, a few brush thoughts, and then painting and sketching so you can see what I reach for in real time. A big takeaway is that “fancy” doesn’t automatically mean “perfect for everything.” I talk about why I genuinely love Arches hot pressed for super smooth work (acrylics, mixed media, even pencils), but also why I personally don’t enjoy it for watercolour—the feel just isn’t it for me. I also share a paper that surprised me in a good way for gouache (Canson Aquarelle 60% cotton), and I introduce the Holbein Irodori Gouache set—my first full-size set—which you’ll definitely see again in upcoming process videos. And because it’s October/Inktober/Drawtober season, I chat a little about taking it easy with challenges this year, even with a fountain pen sitting right there.
