In this video I’m sitting down to make art plans for 2026 together with Annabelle ( @annabelleleeartist )—very cozy, very “grab a snack and coffee and let’s sketch and chat.” I’m working in my A4 watercolor sketchbook with watercolors and watercolor pencils, and I walk you through six planning prompts that can help you shape your year without turning it into a stressful productivity checklist. I really wanted this to feel flexible: whether you’re dreaming big, trying something different, or just continuing what already works, you can pick the prompts that fit your life and your energy. We talk about everything from lofty goals and long-term dreams, to the practical question of what I actually want to improve next (and what’s already going well). I also lean into one of my favorite prompts—revisiting older ideas—because it’s such a gentle way to build momentum: I start sketching old characters again, and later I sketch Lúthien while thinking about composition and character design. The big takeaway is that planning can be creative in itself: it’s a way to reconnect with what you love, set direction, and still leave room for play.
