Everything I sketched that summer in the Swiss alps, and beyond... Join me as I fill my travel sketchbooks with gouache, Neocolor II, colored pencils, and add more and more art supplies to my mixed media collection. 💚 If you feel like painting mountains, glaciers, or wildflowers (or mountain goats) I've collected some of my favorite pictures as references - you can find them on Patreon! This ring-bound version has the same paper, though: https://amzn.to/3RDEeTy * CMYK+W Gouache : https://amzn.to/4mS1WZU * flat brush for gouache: https://amzn.to/47lZOnY * I also use their round brush for gouache details. Escoda Ultimo brush: https://amzn.to/3TtDiSu * (for watercolors) My sizes are a No. 10, 2, and 0. The larger is a "mop" type, the smallest one a regular "round" one that still hold water incredibly well for that size. I only use these at home because I'm worried about damaging them while traveling! Water brush : https://amzn.to/4chD1cA * (perfect for sketching outdoors and very resilient) Holbein Gouache: White: https://amzn.to/3XEMB54 * Yellow Ochre: https://amzn.to/3RJgP33 * Flame Red: https://amzn.to/4cymJM9 * Burnt Umber: https://amzn.to/3RDC724 * Black: https://amzn.to/4cC2DAG * Primary Blue: https://amzn.to/3VXLE6H * Ultramarine: https://amzn.to/3L0fkK8 * Yellow: https://amzn.to/4dA68J1 * Green: https://amzn.to/4dSLROz * Neocolor II : https://amzn.to/4328AoJ * (I love them, but honestly, ANY set would probably better than the one I got at the art shop here... the colors are pretty, but very limited. With hindsight, I'd rather have the basic set.) About This Video

This video is basically my little time capsule of that summer: everything I sketched in Switzerland (and a bit beyond), all gathered in my travel sketchbooks. I’m flipping through pages of mountains, glaciers, wildflowers (and yes, the occasional mountain goat), and talking through what I used on location—gouache, Neocolor II, colored pencils, and whatever mixed media combo felt right in the moment. If you like cozy art vlogs where the sketchbook is the main character, this one is for you. I also share a mini art haul / supplies update, because my mixed media collection definitely grew while I was traveling. I chat about the travel sketch journal I use (mine seems to be a limited edition I can only find in South Korea, but I linked a ring-bound version with the same Arches cold pressed watercolor paper), plus the brushes I trust for gouache vs. the ones I keep safely at home. The big takeaway: you don’t need a massive kit to make travel sketching work—just a few reliable tools, a sketchbook you love, and references that actually inspire you (I put some of my favorite Switzerland photos on Patreon for that).
