Sketch & experiment with me in a completely new medium: acrylic markers, but with three different pen tips and on three different surfaces - and a bonus sketchbook flip-through. Arrtx sent me these markers to test and review: A set of 72 colors and replaceable pen tips, so as an acrylic painter, I had to try them out on all my favorite painting surfaces. 💚 Shop & Portfolio : https://www.evydraws.com/shop Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/EvelynePark (NEW: Monthly Prints Membership) Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/evydraws/ https://www.inprnt.com/gallery/evybak/ (shipping prints to the EU!) Towards the end, you can see some concept sketches for another Silmarillion illustration I'm working on. These markers have found their way into a lot of my lighting and color studies for larger pieces... I've been using them a lot for thumbnail sketches since I filmed this review! About This Video

In this video, I’m doing a cozy “draw with me” while I try acrylic markers for the very first time—specifically the Arrtx 72 colors set that was gifted to me for an honest review (not sponsored). As an acrylic painter, I couldn’t resist testing them the way I’d actually use them in my own workflow: with different nib options and on multiple surfaces, so you can see how the ink/paint behaves depending on what you’re drawing on. I also do a little bonus sketchbook flip-through towards the end. I test the markers across three different surfaces (including a Kraft paper sketchbook, and an Arches watercolor sketchbook that I prepped with rough gesso), and I pay attention to things that matter for sketching and studies: how opaque they feel, how they layer, and how controllable they are with different tips. Since filming, these markers genuinely snuck into my process—I’ve been using them a lot for thumbnail sketches and for quick lighting and color studies for larger illustrations (including some Silmarillion concept sketches you’ll spot near the end). If you’re curious whether acrylic markers are just “a gimmick” or actually useful for artists, this is basically me figuring that out in real time.
