This last cozy art vlog of 2025 is basically me trying to make up for all the portrait and figure practice I’ve been neglecting. I spend a lot of time in my sketchbooks—filling pages with studies, testing a water‑soluble pencil, and just letting myself have those calm studio days (and nights) where the goal is simply to draw more. I also share a book cover illustration reveal, which felt like a really sweet little milestone to close out the year. I also do a mini materials deep-dive: I flip through and review a new art book I’m genuinely in love with, and I talk through some supplies that have been in heavy rotation for me lately. The biggest experiment in this vlog is painting portraits alla prima in acrylics for the first time—using a mix of Golden heavy body and OPEN acrylics so I can control drying time and texture. I wrap things up with a small stationery haul, some end-of-year reflections, and a little peek at what I’m thinking about for 2026—more intentional practice, more finished traditional pieces, and keeping the process cozy and sustainable.
