About This Video

I put this together as my “Sommaravslutningslåt 2026” for the summer celebration at the school where I teach music (Svartbäcksskolan, south of Stockholm). It’s based on Brandsta City Släckers – “Rakt in i elden”, but I’m also very clear about it: I don’t own the rights, and we took a few creative liberties with it. I re-wrote the lyrics, and the arrangement is something I did together with Markus Tälth. In the video you’ll hear the song’s simple, feel-good story: waking up happy, pulling the curtain, meeting the sun, and that “now winter is over—open the door, go out and enjoy” vibe. The chorus is meant to be sung together (“hej hej, sjung med mig”), and it keeps coming back to the same takeaway: it’s warm, it’s nice, and soon we get some time off—nu är det sommar. And I also wanted to keep it real: even if there are rainy, gloomy days that feel like November, don’t get stuck there—we’ll meet again, so enjoy the summer, my friend.
