About This Video

In this video I’m checking out yet another awesome update for the Darkglass Electronics Anagram—and yeah, Darkglass sent me the unit and asked me to do this demo, but they don’t get to see anything beforehand and all opinions are my own. I’m playing my Yamaha Attitude Limited 2 with Rotosound Billy Sheehan signature strings, running two Xvive wireless units straight into the Anagram and straight into Logic with zero post-processing. So what you’re hearing is the Anagram doing the work. The big headline features here are input gain control and the brand new multiband compressor, the Ignisor. I show how you can set input gain per instrument (six slots), which is perfect if you swap between basses with very different output levels. Then I break down my “Oracle Attitude” preset: a dual-input setup for a dual-output bass, three scenes (main distortion, clean, and a silly lead tone), and how I’m splitting/merging pickups while shaping lows, mids, and highs. Finally, I dig into the Ignisor on a clean slate—templates, crossover points, advanced controls, and that super satisfying visual feedback. It’s powerful enough to completely wreck your tone if you go extreme, but used right it clamps the low end in a really musical way. Darkglass really nailed this update, and I’m genuinely happy with how the preset turned out.
