In this video I show how we control an entire house from a single Control4 touch interface, but I zoom in on the living room so you can really see how fast and practical it is day-to-day. One thing I call out is the multi-display driver Control4 released a couple versions back. In this particular Texas project, we didn’t load it because we’re using voice control, and we’ve separated the living room, the top TV, and the bottom TV into their own zones so Josh.ai commands are cleaner and easier to understand. From the same screen, I can jump straight into what you actually use—shortcuts and triggers that take you directly to Roku, or straight into specific apps like Netflix. Once I tap the shortcut, the interface becomes the universal remote (or Roku remote), and I’ll be honest: the gesture control is just easier for us than clicking around, though you can do either. I also show switching between TVs in real time so you can see how responsive the system is. And it’s not just AV—lighting control is right there too, not only in the living room but across the whole house. You can pick a room, see every load, and slide dimmers on the fly. This home is built with centralized lighting, so the drivers and power live upstairs, with one keypad on the wall and everything else handled from the UI.
