About This Video

In this video I’m walking you through what I honestly think is the perfect “do it all” living room: a 133-inch triple-laser 4K short throw Samsung setup on an ambient light rejecting screen, plus two separate 55-inch Samsung TVs—each on its own Roku. It’s a gamer’s dream, a sports fanatic’s dream room, and it still delivers for movie night because you can run each display independently or make the whole room work together. Behind the scenes, everything is tied into Control4 (we’re already updated on the new X4 firmware), and I demo how we use the Control4 T4 tabletop touchscreen as a true universal interface. I show how we built simple shortcuts to jump straight into Roku and apps like Netflix, and why we intentionally separated “living room,” “top TV,” and “bottom TV” for cleaner Josh voice control instead of using the multi-display driver. We also get into audio: a 5.1 surround built with in-ceiling Episode speakers (directional fronts, down-firing rears) and an in-wall sub powered by a separate amp. I break down how surround channels and Dolby Atmos numbering works, then wrap with Josh.ai voice control (named “Nicola” in this home), lighting scenes, and a Control4 keypad that triggers centralized lighting from a single wall station.
