In this project walkthrough, I’m taking you with me to Atlanta, Georgia at the Tunnels to Tower Foundation to break down a completed state-of-the-art media room. We built this space around dual displays—a 4K laser projector on a 120-inch retractable screen plus a separate 65-inch Samsung 4K commercial display—so the room can flex between movie nights, everyday viewing, and even digital signage. On the audio side, I laid out seven in-ceiling speakers and an in-wall sub powered by a dedicated sub amp to deliver real surround sound without clutter. I also show you how we designed this before we ever stepped foot in the building: selecting speaker locations, planning the projector throw distance, and running the right cabling (speaker wire, Cat, and clean HDMI runs straight to the rack). We used a 12V trigger so when the projector turns on, the screen drops automatically—simple and reliable. Everything is tied together with Control4, and the managers can control each room from the app, which is exactly how a professional install should feel: clean, responsive, and easy to use.
