About This Video

In this video I’m sharing my Top 10 older motorhomes that are actually built to last—based on what I’ve seen over years of RV inspections and repair work. I’m talking real-world build quality, not just pretty finishes. For each pick, I cover the class (A, B+, or C), what chassis/engine it’s typically on (like the Ford E450, Roadmaster, Workhorse, etc.), whether it has slide-outs, how it does for boondocking (tank sizes matter), and whether it’s more 3-season or truly 4-season. My list includes favorites like Lazy Daze (yes, I live in one), Chinook, Born Free, Coach House Platinum, Safari Trek, Bigfoot, Phoenix Cruiser, Fleetwood Tioga, Dynamax Isata, and a luxury diesel pusher pick—the Monaco Dynasty (pre-buyout/Roadmaster chassis). I also give you the inspector-style “watch outs,” especially around slides—because leaks and alignment issues are real. And I toss in an honorable mention that surprised me: the Toyota Sunrader for high-clearance, off-the-beaten-path camping. Bottom line: buy based on your camping goals, and get any used RV inspected so you don’t end up with a lemon.
