About This Video

In this video, I sit down with Mike from Cozy Camper for a real-talk conversation about what it actually looks like to become an RV inspector—before you spend the money and jump in. We talk about training paths (NRVTA/RVTI), the steep learning curve after graduation, and why “just taking a class” doesn’t magically make you solid in the field. I share how I graduated in 2021, got busy fast, and felt like a fish out of water at first—because school is only a couple RVs, and real life is every RV, every system, every weird problem, right now. We also get into the stuff people don’t want to hear: reputation is everything, and you are your brand. Dealerships remember mistakes, and there’s less room for error now because there are more inspectors out there. We talk about the travel trap (staying local usually wins), why tech work demand is basically unlimited compared to inspections, and why cutting your prices to “get more inspections” hurts you and the whole market. Finally, we hit marketing and content creation—SEO, socials, authenticity, and being careful what you post—because perception becomes reality, and your online presence can absolutely affect your business.
