🚐 Welcome back to my “How to NOT Buy a Lemon” series! This is Part 3, and today we’re tying everything together. In the first video, we talked about finding the right RV for your lifestyle. In the second, we discussed how to recognize build quality and what to look for when shopping for an RV. In this video, I’m sharing three real-life RV inspections — including one high-quality Tiffin that turned into a money pit, and another mid-range Forest River that was in excellent shape thanks to great maintenance. You’ll see why build quality matters, but maintenance matters even more. Plus, I’ll show you exactly what you can do to protect yourself — whether that means hiring a certified RV inspector or using my DIY RV Inspection Workbook to inspect it yourself. 🛠️ Your two options to avoid buying a lemon: 1️⃣ Find a certified RV inspector at http://www.rvhelp.com 2️⃣ Get my DIY RV Inspection Workbook – on sale for Black Friday (Nov 28–30)! https://stan.store/debsrvservices 💡 What You’ll Learn: Why even well-built RVs can be lemons How poor maintenance causes thousands in hidden damage The difference between a good deal and a money pit What to look for in roof seals, slides, windows, and electrical systems Why an inspection is essential for both new and used RVs 📺 Watch Part 1: https://youtu.be/J3QZYgZK5gc?si=ujvoPPH8RNuCTsCu 📺 Watch Part 2: https://youtu.be/Woloc2WWXzk?si=7QnQYC_TrNSL_H_R 📋 Want a FREE RV inspection checklist? About This Video

In Part 3 of my “How to NOT Buy a Lemon” series, I’m tying everything together with real inspections I’ve done recently—and I’m going to be honest with you: even “quality” RVs can be absolute money pits. I walk through why matching an RV to your lifestyle still matters (like tankless water heaters that may not work above elevation, or how a 12-volt fridge and tankless setup can drain you fast if you boondock). It’s not just about a pretty layout—it’s about how you actually camp and what systems you’re relying on. Then I get into three case studies. One was an older Tiffin Class A that should’ve been a great buy on paper—solid materials, quality build—but it had active water intrusion, rot in three slides, slide alignment and sealing issues, a stuck generator compartment, and a converter that wasn’t charging batteries. That’s the point: build quality matters, but maintenance matters even more. I also inspected a Forest River Berkshire that was in great shape because the owner maintained it, kept records, and stayed on top of repairs. Finally, I show what I caught at a dealership—roof sealant patched over poorly and a slide gap that needed adjustment—because little “missed” details turn into big dollars later. My solution is simple: hire a certified RV inspector, or do a DIY inspection the right way using my workbook/checklists. Either way, don’t buy a lemon.
