About This Video

In this video, I’m walking you through a real inspection where my client signed the RV contract first—and then I found some big problems: burnt wires in the electrical panel (life-safety/fire hazard), a slide that wouldn’t move at all, and tires that were already showing cracking even though they weren’t technically over five years old. The unit was a 2022 Gulf Stream Conquest that was built during the “COVID build” years (built in 2021), and those years are exactly why I tell people to be extra careful. If the slide won’t extend, I can’t even inspect underneath it for alignment issues, water intrusion, or staining—so you’re already starting out blind on a major system. The good news is the dealership did step up and fix everything under warranty, but that’s not the point—I want you to avoid being in that position in the first place. Buyer beware: don’t sign that paperwork until after the inspection, because then you have leverage to get issues corrected before you’re locked in. I also explain the difference between my Premier inspection (NRVIA-style, very detailed with hundreds of photos/videos and documented specs) and my Checklist inspection (time-limited, big-picture, and you can be with me to learn). And I announce my new DIY RV Inspection Community plus my DIY Inspection Workbook at an introductory price, so you can learn how to inspect an RV from A to Z.
