In this video I’m testing the Lancôme Louvre Palette and showing you two different looks so you can really see what it can do. The first look is my more everyday, soft, ethereal vibe—super wearable—and I used everything in the palette except the green. Because the shades are so sheer and iridescent, they blend together really easily, which can be gorgeous… but it also means you don’t get a ton of obvious contrast unless you build it up or change what you put underneath. Then I come back with a second look that’s more “going out” for me (although I know some people would wear it daily). I talk through the big thing with this palette: it’s $90, and in my opinion it’s not a complete look on its own if you like depth and dimension. I ended up using a base (like MAC Groundwork) to make the shades pop more, and I also mention that some of the shades can be a little flaky with a brush and give you fallout. Overall, I do think Lisa Eldridge did a really great job with the concept—these iridescent shades can work across skin tones because they’re so sheer—but I still wish there were two versions (lighter and deeper). If you love every shade and you’ll reach for it a lot, it can be worth it, but I wouldn’t buy it just for the highlighter.
