In this video I’m doing another “using my monthly makeup basket” GRWM, because I needed to put makeup on (even though it was already well into the afternoon). I start by regrouping and doing a little skin prep with the JOAH Cica Cooling Gel Mist and the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow serum, then I test the Iconic London Radiance Booster all over the face for a thin, subtle glow. For base, I finally crack open my Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Sublime foundation (yes, the one I bought around Black Friday and never used) and talk through how watery it is, how it’s sitting on my skin, and how the shade is pulling a bit yellow on me. From there it’s all about building complexion using color theory—because I’m trying to decide what stays and what gets decluttered. I test a Phytosurgence cream blush that’s looking a little separated and admit it reads a bit “bruised”/too cool on my light, pale olive skin… but warming everything back up with the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer helps balance it out. I set with the La Mer powder (which I swear leans a little orange), then layer on Viseart blush/bronzer to keep the cheeks looking natural and skin-like. For eyes, I pull out an older Victoria Beckham shadow quad (the tones lean cool/pinky, which is why I ignore it) and then melt it together with Chanel Les Beiges (Intense) to add that warm bronzy-green vibe without going muddy. I finish with YSL mascara, a light hand of Becca Champagne Pop (still very gold on me), and a Gucci “Call It a Day” lip with MAC Stone liner for a cool-toned edge. The final look surprised me—in a good way—and it’s a perfect example of how mixing tones can make “meh” products actually work.
