About This Video

In this quick and simple tutorial, I show you how to check your Wi‑Fi internet speed on both iPhone and Android, and the steps are exactly the same. If your Wi‑Fi feels slow, unstable, or YouTube keeps buffering, this is the fastest way to confirm whether your connection is actually good. I do everything in the web browser so you don’t have to download any third‑party apps. All you do is open your browser, type in speedtest.net, and tap “continue on web.” Then tap “Go” and let it run for about 10–15 seconds. When it finishes, the main number you’ll see is your download speed, and that’s the most important measurement on the web version because it tells you how fast things load—YouTube videos, photos, and even messages. I also break down what numbers you should aim for: at least 10–20 Mbps for regular browsing and YouTube, and around 50 Mbps or more if multiple people are using the internet at the same time. If you’re seeing something like 1–2 Mbps, restart your router first, and if that doesn’t fix it, it’s time to call your internet provider because something is definitely wrong.
