About This Video

If you’re tired of people re-uploading your YouTube Shorts without credit, this is the fastest fix I use: add a watermark. In this video I show you two clean options in CapCut—either a simple text watermark with your handle or your channel logo—so your brand stays on the video no matter where it gets shared. First, I walk you through a text watermark. I add text, stretch the layer across the full video so it doesn’t disappear, then type my handle (like “app tutor”). I keep it simple—usually white text, often the Montserrat font—and the key is lowering opacity to around 60–70% so it’s visible but not distracting. Then I cover the “safe zone” placement: don’t put it on the bottom or right side because the Shorts UI (description, username, like/comment buttons) can cover it. Finally, I show how to import a logo image, resize it, place it near the top/center, and lower opacity (around 40–50%) using blend/opacity so it doesn’t ruin the video.
