All right, guys—here’s what’s on the bench today: a PRS SE Zach Myers that needed new strings and a full setup with intonation. I pull the old set off the wraparound tailpiece, take a look at where that A-string saddle position is sitting, and make a couple preliminary adjustments before we even restring it. I also check the scale length situation—this isn’t 24 3/4 like a Gibson, it’s that PRS 245 thing—so I’m eyeballing measurements and getting ready to dial the neck in once the strings are back on. I throw on a set of Regular Slinky 10–46, load the strings into the wraparound bridge first (way easier), and start stretching them because these wraparound setups can stretch a lot. I check intonation with a Snark, listen for buzz, and I do end up loosening the truss rod a bit because I had it too tight and needed a little more relief. Action lands around .08 on the low E and .07 on the high E at the 12th fret, and overall it plays pretty darn good—no dead frets. Brand new strings keep moving for a minute, but once everything seats in the nut and bridge, it comes together nicely, and it’s ready for the customer to pick up.
