Okay guys, here’s what’s on the bench today: a B.C. Rich Gunslinger that came in for a setup and a restring. This one’s got a floating Floyd Rose trem, an inverted headstock, a Seymour Duncan in the bridge, and a Duncan Design in the neck. I start by blocking the trem so it’ll sit nice and flat (and yeah—sometimes an actual trem blocker works, and sometimes an eraser works even better). From there I loosen the strings, check the saddle positions, and do a little eyeballing to get the intonation closer—especially because that low E was way too far forward. Then I clean it up shop-style: Guitar Juice tonic for the body, a quick polish on the maple board with GHS Guitar Gloss, and I take care of that scratchy volume/static by spraying the electronics with basic electronic cleaner from the auto parts store. This particular Gunslinger was missing strap buttons, so I add a set and use a little wood glue on a toothpick in the holes so the screws actually have something to bite into. After I restring it with Ernie Ball Super Slinky 9–42, I check neck relief with my notch straight edge, tune it up, and dial the Floyd in by adjusting the claw so the bridge sits flat. The low E was buzzing, so I raised the bridge a tad (yeah, I just went for it), locked the nut, and wrapped it up. Great playing Gunslinger when it’s done.
