About This Video

Welcome back to Where Nerdy is Cool. In this one I’m putting ZYLTech’s Wood+ PLA composite filament through real prints, not just a quick “benchy and done.” This stuff has 20% real wood fibers in it—so it’s not imitation—and it comes in five shades (gray, natural wood, redwood, maroon, and green). ZYLTech is based in Houston, Texas, and the spools are 1 kg for $24.95, plus you can use my coupon code to save a little extra. For testing, I ran it on my Elegoo Centauri (hardened 0.4mm nozzle) and my Bambu Lab A1 with AMS Light (hardened 0.6mm nozzle). I printed everything from a benchy to a desktop organizer, stackable containers, and a Christmas tree, and I stuck to basic PLA settings in Orca (220°C / 60°C) with zero jams or clogs. The big takeaways: it’s easy to use, the texture looks fantastic, you can literally smell the wood while it prints, and the plastic spool is AMS Light friendly with no adapter hassle. Just remember—because it’s filled and abrasive, a hardened nozzle is the smart move, and if it’s been sitting in storage, dry it before you print.
