How should you store 3D printer filament to prevent moisture damage? In this video I test the YOOPAI Pro filament storage box, a storage solution designed to keep 3D printer filament dry and protected from humidity. Proper filament storage is critical because moisture in filament can cause: • Stringing • Weak prints • Poor surface quality For years I’ve stored my filament in cereal containers, but YOOPAI reached out and suggested their filament storage boxes with hygrometers and desiccant packs might work even better. So I decided to test them and see how they compare. These filament storage boxes include: • Built-in hygrometers to monitor humidity • Color-changing reusable desiccant packs • Airtight gasket lids • Space for standard 1kg 3D printer filament spools I also tested them with several filament brands including Push Plastic, Polymaker, and Zyltech to make sure typical 1kg spools fit properly. 🔗 YOOPAI Pro Filament Storage Box (Amazon Affiliate Link) https://amzn.to/4ugL1E5 (If you purchase using the link above, I may earn a small commission that helps support the channel at no extra cost to you.) 🐱 Special guest appearance by Scooter, who demonstrates exactly why plastic bags don’t work when you have curious cats in the house. 📺 Related Video Push Plastic Factory Tour https://youtu.be/Pe4BKf8-nfs 🛒 **Affiliate Links & Coupon Codes (Help Support the Channel!):** Slice Engineering → https://tinyurl.com/298kdsbk (Use Code: WHERENERDYISCOOL) Push Plastic USA Made Filament → https://www.pushplastic.com/?ref=WHERENERDYISCOOL 💸 Use Code: **WHERENERDYISCOOL15** (15% Off) 3D Fuel Filaments → https://www.3dfuel.com 💸 Use Code: **WHERENERDYISCOOL** (10% Off) VOXEL Filaments & More → https://voxelpla.com/wherenerdyiscool Polymaker Filament → https://tinyurl.com/4f74rywz My Recommended Tools List → https://amzn.to/3D9K2fP E3D-OnLine Hot Ends → https://tinyurl.com/c3bntf9a --- 💬 **Support the Channel:** • Patreon → https://www.patreon.com/wherenerdyiscool • Buy Me a Coffee → https://buymeacoffee.com/wherenerdyiscool --- 🎯 **Other Trusted Partners:** • Amazon → https://amzn.to/3B2QOnQ • Wham Bam Systems → https://bit.ly/3KJhHPY (Use Code: WNIC2022) • ZYLtech → https://tinyurl.com/mrxh3bz2 (Use Code: NerdyisCool) • MatterHackers → https://tinyurl.com/2kmwakzs • Slice Engineering → https://tinyurl.com/298kdsbk (Use Code: WHERENERDYISCOOL) 3D printer filament storage, how to keep filament dry, filament humidity storage, best filament storage box, airtight filament storage, desiccant filament storage, filament moisture problems, storing PLA filament, storing PETG filament, storing 3D printer filament long term, YOOPAI filament storage box review.

About This Video

Hello, welcome back—my name is Paul, and this is Where Nerdy is Cool. In this video I’m talking about something that doesn’t get enough love until it ruins a print: filament storage. Moisture is the enemy, and it shows up as stringing, weak prints, and ugly surface quality. For years I’ve been using cereal containers (and honestly, they’ve worked great), but YOOPAI reached out and said they might have a better solution—so I unboxed and tested their YOOPAI Pro filament storage boxes to see if they’re actually worth it. What makes these different is the “bundle” approach: you get the containers, airtight gasket lids, reusable color-changing desiccant packs, and little hygrometers to monitor humidity. I opened all four hygrometers to check if they agreed with each other (they did), then test-fit multiple 1kg spools—Push Plastic, Polymaker, and ZYLtech, including a cardboard spool—to make sure real-world filament fits with the meter inside. My takeaway: they’re a solid, not-terrible-value option if you want humidity readouts and included desiccant, and they also solve my personal problem—cats like Scooter and Molly chewing holes in plastic bags. As always: print safely.
