About This Video

In this video I put the Chitu Systems FilaPartner E1 filament dryer through its paces after using it for well over a month. It’s a dual-chamber setup that holds up to four spools total, and the big headline feature is that each chamber can run its own temperature. That means I can dry something like PLA in one container while running nylon in the other at 70°C—at the same time—without playing the “one temp fits all” game. I walk through the design (yes, it reminds me of a 1990s floppy disk holder), the removable containers, the desiccant trays, the touchscreen controls, and even the USB‑C firmware update option—which is a first for any filament dryer I’ve owned. Then I do what everyone actually cares about: does it work? I dug out a three-year-old, very wet MatterHackers Pro Series nylon, printed a terrible benchy, dried it for 12 hours, sealed the ports with the magnetic covers, and reprinted. The “after” benchy came out excellent—exactly what you’d expect from properly dried nylon. I also cover the stuff I don’t love: it feels a little flimsy and top-heavy, the included PTFE tube pieces are comically short, and the extra containers at about $40 each feel pricey. Minor nitpicks aside, the temperature accuracy was spot-on in my testing, and the results speak for themselves.
