In this video I dig into the new Eryone Thinker X400—an enclosed 400 x 400 x 400 CoreXY printer that’s clearly trying to ride the “bigger, faster, enclosed” wave that Bambu Lab and Creality helped create. I don’t have one in hand (these were beta units), so I’m breaking down what stood out to me from two creators I really respect: Loyal Moses and Uncle Jesse. Between their footage and my own history owning two Thinkers plus an ER20, my spidey sense is definitely tingling. On the plus side, it looks like a rugged aluminum-frame machine with lighting, a built-in carbon-style filter, Klipper, and a direct drive setup that should handle more than just basic PLA. But the beta pain points are hard to ignore: hotend reliability issues (including shipping damage and troubleshooting), layer shifting, Z-banding, and even a textured/surface artifact that reminded me of old “salmon skin” driver days. Add in no Wi‑Fi (Ethernet only), doors that don’t stay shut, slow bed heat-up/start times (around 15 minutes), and a filter that didn’t keep up with ASA fumes—and my takeaway is simple: manage your expectations, especially if you’re thinking “print farm, 24/7 reliability” out of the box.
