Last week we left you with a blown fuse, zero power in the van, and honestly… we were barely holding it together. After a much-needed reset at an RV park on the Alabama Gulf (and a whole lot of finger-crossing), we got Mr. Lemon back in business and pointed him toward Alabama state park life. We rolled into Meaher State Park, picked our site by stalking YouTube videos of every spot (highly recommend), and immediately understood why it’s booked up—nice bathrooms, open sky for Starlink, and just an all-around 10/10 setup. Then it was upgrade time: I installed a Blu Technology three-stage water filtration system from etrailer… with basically no experience doing it this way. I wanted to stop messing with an outside filter setup, so I tied it into our lines inside the van so city water and the pump both run through the filter before hitting the faucet. It was a little “use the tools I’ve got on the road” energy, but the quick connects, stainless fittings, and included pressure regulator made it way easier than I expected—and the leak test passed. To round out Alabama, we tackled the no-propane reality, removed a cracked leaking propane hose, and then went full history nerd at the USS Drum submarine and the USS Alabama battleship. Alabama gave us the low lows and high highs back-to-back… which is basically our whole 50-state journey in a nutshell.
