We’ve stayed in more Walmart lots, Harvest Hosts, and Cracker Barrels than we care to count, so this week we did something totally different: we checked into one of the highest-rated RV resorts in Georgia and put it to the test for three days. I broke the review down into seven things that actually matter when you’re traveling full-time—arrival/check-in, site types, amenities, stuff to do within 30 miles, the restaurant, the views, and the real cost. We toured the “levels” (their premium ridge sites up top down to the more budget-friendly area), talked price points, and I’ll tell you straight up: if you come here, site #5 on Falcon Ridge is pretty unique. But of course Mr. Lemon had other plans. I went to turn on the propane to make scrambled eggs, heard a pop, and then a huge hiss—propane cloud dumping out underneath the van. I shut everything down, found the manual valve I didn’t even know was integrated into the electronic switch, and tracked the leak to a brittle hose bent at a nasty angle with hairline cracks. Takeaway: know where your propane shutoff is, inspect your hoses, and check the wiring—because now we’ve got no propane for cooking, heat, or hot water. We still got out and explored nearby (hello, Amicalola Falls and those “strenuous” 600 steps), tested the golf cart “for science” (spoiler: not necessary for us), and wrapped it all up with the real costs and our final lemon pull—Hillary cooks… with no propane. Perfect.
