Everyone's been telling me to try Opera GX. So I finally did. Fresh install, no prep, no sponsorship — just me going through it for the first time and seeing if it actually holds up or if it's just Chrome with a gaming chair skin on it. 👉 All Wallpaper Packs (Bundle): https://techenthusiast-shop.fourthwall.com/products/all-wallpaper-packs ☕ Buy me a coffee: https://ko-fi.com/techenthusiast If you'd like to support the channel, consider a Tech Enthusiast membership by clicking the “Join” button above! 👉 My Setup: 🖱️- Mouse: https://bit.ly/TE-mouse ⌨️ - Keyboard: https://bit.ly/3qTfOLu 💻 - Laptop: https://bit.ly/4cWXAM5 🎤 - Mic: https://bit.ly/44EENAc 🎛️ - Audio Interface: https://bit.ly/3YYoay2 🦾 - Boom Arm: https://bit.ly/3EjrYk0 ✉️ Collaborations: techenthusiast788@gmail.com 🔧 Tools Used in This Video: OperaGX: https://www.opera.com/gx 👍 Like & Subscribe for more Windows customization, tools, and clean setups. About This Video

Opera GX has been recommended to me more times than I can count, and I kept dismissing it because the whole gamer aesthetic (RGB UI, Twitch integration, “gaming browser” marketing) made it feel like it was designed to sell you something. In this video I finally do a true first-time test: fresh install, no prep, no sponsorship. I walk through the setup screens, disable the stuff I don’t want (usage data, crash reports, startup launch), and then dig into the data collection toggles because, honestly, some of it is crazy—like interest-based tracking and even location. After that I explore what Opera GX actually brings: themes, browser sounds, keyboard sounds, optional background music, sidebar integrations (Discord, Twitch, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.), built-in ad blocker, tracker blocking, and the GX Control panel with RAM/CPU/network limiters and a “hot tabs killer.” Then I put the big claim to the test: RAM usage vs Chrome with the same 15 tabs. In my test, Chrome used less memory than Opera GX—even after turning on Chrome’s Memory Saver and cranking Opera GX’s RAM limiter. My takeaway: if you’re here for performance and lower RAM, I don’t see a strong reason to switch from Chrome, especially with the extra data collection prompts Opera GX pushes during setup.
