What’s up YouTube—this is the last time you guys see my 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road on 33s, because right after this I went and got 35s mounted. I’d been running Yokohama Geolander mud terrains for about a year or two and honestly I loved them—super aggressive sidewalls and I had zero complaints. But for the 35s I wanted to try something different, so I went with BFGoodrich KM3 M/Ts. I was hyped, but the big question was rubbing… because even on 33s I was already rubbing a little on the driver-side cab mount and sometimes up front when I’m off-roading hard. Once the KM3s were on, the truck instantly looked meaner and you can definitely tell the tires are bigger than the 33s. I expected some rub and yeah, I’m still rubbing on the cab mount area a bit, plus a little in the liner—but I’ve got a cab mount relocation on order, and I’ll be stepping up to 700 lb front springs to help fix the forward slant from my current setup (front bumper weight + how I run my Icon RXT leafs for the bed rack/RTT). I also talked real numbers on MPG: on 33” mud terrains I’m around 11.6 mpg on a good day, usually 10.8–10.9, and I’m expecting 35s to drop it into the low 10s or even high 9s.
