What’s up, YouTube—this video is the long overdue walkthrough of my new tow rig: a 2025 Chevrolet 2500HD LTZ Trail Boss with the Z71 package and the 6.6L V8 gas motor (not diesel). This truck is replacing my 2020 Tacoma, and yeah… selling the Tacoma was a sad day. But if you watched my trailer video, you already know why this had to happen—there was no way I was towing our new 26 ft Jayco SLX travel trailer with the Tacoma. Our trailer is only around 5,000 lbs, so for my situation diesel just wasn’t necessary. I do a full walkaround of the exterior and interior, including the KO3 tires on the 20s, the bed setup (spray-in liner, bed lighting, and the gooseneck package), and why I went with white even though I really wanted that thunderstorm/cement gray vibe. I also talk about the PPF I had installed (and why I pulled the badges off), plus the black emblem plan. Inside, I show the massive screens, Bose audio, heated steering wheel, drive modes, trailer brake, and all the camera views that make towing way less intimidating—especially since I’ve never towed anything in my life. I also get into early MPG reality (it’s not great), the 36-gallon tank, and what I’m considering mod-wise. This truck won’t be built like my Tacoma was—because I bought it to tow—so I’m weighing things like suspension, rock sliders, and how mods can affect towing capacity.
