What’s up YouTube—this video is a big one for my channel. If you saw my last video on our new 26ft Jayco SLX travel trailer, then you already know the Tacoma wasn’t going to cut it for towing. So yeah… I sold my 2020 Tacoma. It was honestly a sad day, but it was time, and I picked up what replaced it: a 2025 Chevrolet 2500HD Z71 Trail Boss LTZ with the 6.6L gas V8 (not diesel). Our trailer is only about 5,000 lbs, so diesel just wasn’t necessary for my situation. I give you a full walk-around of the truck and the stuff I’ve noticed right away—KO3 tires on 20s, the steps, sprayed bed liner, bed lighting, and the gooseneck prep already in the bed. I also talk about why I removed the factory badges (PPF install) and what I’m doing next with decals. Up front, I went heavy on protection—PPF on the grill/bumper/hood area—because rock chips and bugs are real, and this is an expensive purchase. Inside, I show the massive screens, the camera views that make towing way less stressful (I’ve never towed before), the mirror features, and some of the comfort stuff like heated/ventilated seats and the back seat space. I also keep it real about MPG—mine’s been around 9–13 so far—but the 36-gallon tank still gets me farther than the Tacoma ever did.
