Is this a full review of the Ibanez AS7328-TBC and S6621AH-TGB?

Accepted Answer

Nope—this is a first impressions unboxing video. I’m not going through all the specs here; I’m literally getting them out of the box and plugging them in for the first time. Full videos with proper spec talk will come later for both guitars.

What did you think of the Ibanez AS7328-TBC baritone right out of the box?

Accepted Answer

I like this guitar a lot—like, I can genuinely see myself buying it. It looks fantastic (tobacco burst vibe, trapeze tailpiece, long baritone neck), and it felt good immediately. The neck is a bit fatter than my old AS100, but it plays great and the fret ends were solid.

How does the AS7328-TBC sound clean and dirty?

Accepted Answer

Clean, it’s got that big, warm semi-hollow thing going on, and the neck pickup gets really jazzy. Dirty, it still keeps punch, and for baritone I often live on the bridge pickup because it cuts through the best. Honestly, all three positions sounded good to me.

What stood out about the Ibanez S6621AH-TGB S-Series?

Accepted Answer

The neck—total opposite of the baritone. It’s super skinny and slinky with a satin feel, and the whole guitar just feels high quality. It’s made in Japan and the fret edges were exceptional—beautifully done.

Does the S6621AH-TGB have coil-splitting or special switching?

Accepted Answer

It’s got a 5-way switch, and in the in-between positions there’s definitely some “splitage” going on. I didn’t map every option in this first look, but you can hear the brighter, more single-coil-ish flavors. I’ll dig into exactly what each position is doing in the full demo.

What amp and recording chain did you use in the video?

Accepted Answer

I went Peterson Strobp HD tuner into my Mozztronics amp switcher, then into the ENGL Retro Tube 100. From there it hits a Two Notes Captor (not the Captor X) into my Audient iD44 and straight into Logic. In Logic I’m using Genome for cab IRs and splitting left/right between Dirty Boy and Headfirst cabs with a bit of room verb.

Are these guitars set up well from the factory?

Accepted Answer

Yeah—both of them were set up very, very well. I don’t think I’d need to do anything to either guitar to just start playing them. They arrived in humidity changes and needed a tiny tune, but that’s normal.
