Happy Wednesday from my little crafty corner. This day felt like proper “where’s the heat wave gone?” weather, so I was straight into jumper mode after hanging the washing out. I took you with me to my local fabric shop (I’m so lucky to have a really good one in the next town) because I wanted more denim for the patchy project-bag idea I started. I much prefer buying in person when I can—especially with denim—because online listings by weight don’t mean much until you’ve actually felt how thick it is. I came home with a lovely thick dark denim, plus a few haberdashery bits I’m obsessed with: a floral ribbon trim and the prettiest crochet lace for embellishing. Then it was back to sewing, with a quick cosy pause to show you my plant wins (my peace lily finally flowered and I was genuinely squealing). I finished two denim project bags and I’m honestly so happy with them—cherry patches, a little denim patch, tabs on the side, and even a tiny ribbon flower. It’s giving me proper old-school 80s denim-jacket vibes, and I love that “more is always more” look. To finish the day, I baked rhubarb muffins (with oats on top) and popped on my audiobook, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, while I planned the next batch of bags for the shop.
