About This Video

In this February vlog I’m doing things a little bit differently and starting with my shop updates first, because I always leave them until the end and I know not everyone makes it that far. I’m sharing the new fabric combinations I’ve been sewing up for my baskets—still keeping a cosy feel with corduroy and brushed cotton, but with spring starting to peek through I’ve also been letting the prettier fabrics sneak back in (very on brand for me). You’ll see mustard cord with a mustard tartan check lining, a red cord with a gorgeous tartan (made by me here in Scotland, so it feels extra fitting), and a pink cord paired with a sweet floral. I also show a new fabric I tried that I absolutely love—a really soft pale pink ā€œbookā€ fabric lined with a delicate grey dot—and I chat about how these baskets aren’t just for craft bits (they’d be lovely for baby items, toys, or general home storage too). I also share a quick tip for when your basket arrives a bit squished in the post: you can safely iron it back into shape (cord and canvas are fine, and you can always iron the inside if you’re unsure). To finish, I pop in a little reading update: I finished The Chalk Pit by Elly Griffiths and jumped straight into The Dark Angel, and I also share that I didn’t really enjoy the Rewitched audiobook—bit bored, not what I expected—so I’m still deciding what to listen to next while I’m sewing.
