About This Video

Good morning from a very tired (and very warm) Saturday. In this small business owner daily vlog, I take you along for a properly cosy weekend with a bit of everything: a much-needed coastal path walk with my boyfriend (I’m so drawn to the sea — it’s just instantly calming), plus a slower, quieter Sunday where I didn’t really film and honestly… it was quite nice to not pick up my phone. I also answer a really important small business question from the comments: how I got into sewing as a business, whether it’s my job, and how I think about pricing handmade items. I share how it started when my son was little, how it grew from posting makes online, and why it takes time (it really doesn’t happen overnight). I chat about the realities of running a small business right now — the economy, Brexit and EU postage rules, and how spending habits have changed — and why I’ve branched out into things like Patreon. To finish the weekend, I share a little book update (The House at Riverton), a quick Morrisons mooch (lots of pretty homeware, but I’m not spending), and an easy tea at home: fish and chips with mushy peas and onion rings — freezer tea, but still lovely.
