About This Video

Morning from a very cool, rainy Fife in Scotland — we seem to be missing the heatwave, so I was fully leaning into the cosy vibes with fairy lights, a cup of tea, and a bit of stitching. In this vlog I catch you up on what I’ve been making for the shop, including my patch-covered denim bags (I’ve gone completely patch-crazy), plus some soft, calming pastel storage pouches with gingham and pretty florals. I also show you how I’ve been sorting out my own notions storage pouch, because honestly my tools end up scattered across far too many project bags — and I’m trying to make it easier to always find the essentials (especially scissors). I also share what I’ve been working on craft-wise: my winter sampler by Pretty Fabric and Trims. It’s got embroidery, a bit of English paper piecing, and appliqué, and I’m learning as I go — some stitches I’m confident with, others feel a bit vague in the instructions, so I’ve been looking things up. It’s actually been helping my crafting mojo come back, and I talk a bit about letting myself craft when the urge is there, instead of being too strict about what I “should” be doing. Finally, we have a book chat (including a very honest review of a book I’m not enjoying), and I share what I’m reading next ahead of my archaeology dig on East Lomond Hill. I also chat garden life — painting the summer house and dreaming of cosy knitting and reading out there again.
