About This Video

In this cosy January vlog up in Scotland, I start by updating my reading journal with everything I got through over the festive period—plus the one book I tried and ended up giving up on because it was slow and I just didn’t connect with the characters. I chat through a few Christmas reads (including a quick little Molly the maid story), my audiobook listens, and I round off the year feeling really pleased that I finished 32 books without setting any goal at all. For the year ahead, I’m keeping it the same: no pressure, just enjoying reading and audiobooks as and when. Then it’s time for a proper winter “snow test” of my handmade knits—shawl, hat, socks, and my much-loved gloves with a mitten flap that I adapted myself. I share a few late gift makes (including speedy, scrappy mini mitts), and then I head back into the sewing room for a New Year reset. I’m leaning into hibernation mode with earthy, cosy “cabin in the woods” fabrics—because it’s still winter, no matter what the shops say—and I’m setting intentions to make practical storage that’s also beautiful, inviting, and a joy to reach for.
