About This Video

It feels like ages since we’ve had a proper catch up, so this one is a cosy, chatty, very autumnal vlog where I fill you in on what I’ve been up to. I talk about doing another archaeology dig locally (no hill fort this time—thank goodness), working in 1m square plots and finding bits and pieces like coins (one was 1904), clay pipe fragments, bottle stoppers, and even a little bit of medieval pottery which was so exciting. I’m also heading into another dig on an old mill site soon, and I’m really hoping we get to explore the medieval layers too, because that’s the bit that really makes it feel like there’s always going to be something interesting. At home, it’s been all the cosy bits—books, crafting, and shop updates. I share what I’m reading (I’m partway through The Sun Sister, plus a couple of charity-shop finds), then I get properly autumn-motivated and start winging a knitted pumpkin with super soft chunky “baby” chenille-style yarn. There’s the usual chaos of casting on (why is my tail never long enough?) but knitting it on metal needles is so much nicer than crocheting it on bamboo. I also show you new autumnal zip pouches, some props for photographing them, and a gorgeous new addition to my shop: floral embossed leather journals in mini and full size, plus insert refills and some of my favourite journaling stickers and stamps. And of course, there’s a little Tilly update too—she’s been trialling Katkin and I’ve genuinely noticed a difference.
