Following on from my last vlog, I spend these busy autumn days in full “make it now” mode and get a little new product idea out of my head (the only way to do it, honestly). I sew up more of my mini fabric baskets in wintry-but-not-too-Christmassy fabrics—simple plain linings, sturdy thick webbing handles, and enough structure that they actually stay up. They’re such a handy size for a small knitting or crochet project, a tiny advent, or just storing bits and bobs, and I pop them in my shop at a slightly discounted price because they’re my first attempt and I know I’ll tweak the size next time. I also share a cosy little charity shop book haul—mostly for inspiration. There’s a slow cooker book with proper quick recipes (no faffing with pre-frying), plus The Midnight Library, and a gorgeous Katy Daisy book that’s basically “a book for the eyes” for when you want to sit and have a quiet flick through. The big moment in this vlog is my Christmas stocking launch. I go on a deep search for the perfect canvasy gingham (because not all ginghams are equal), and I sew lightly padded, fully lined stockings with removable bow pins so you can choose how they hang and even swap bows around. I’m offering them as a pre-order so I can plan numbers and fabric, and I’m crossing my fingers you love them as much as I do.
