Hey what’s going on everybody—Joseph from Screenbite. In this video I’m making a pretty big announcement: I’m the founder of a new Windows handheld app called Winhanced. The whole point is simple—I want to make the Windows 11 handheld experience feel way less frustrating and way more “console-like,” the same way SteamOS makes the Steam Deck feel effortless. After my wife got me an ROG Ally X for Christmas (and I gave my Steam Deck OLED to my brother-in-law), it didn’t take long for me to realize how much manual tinkering Windows handheld gaming still asks of you. So I turned that frustration into a product design project, posted early designs on Reddit on January 1st, and it blew up more than I expected. A few people offered to help, and I teamed up with Z Degrees—then we spent the last ~3 months building. Winhanced is now in Early Access with the core features ready for testing: a unified game library (currently pulling installed Steam and Xbox Game Pass games) and an always-available overlay that pops up with one button press anywhere. The overlay is the heart of it—controller remapping with profiles, a command center for TDP/refresh rate/frame rate tweaks, and performance monitoring—basically the stuff you need to optimize per game without living in Windows menus.
