I really really like the Panasonic LUMIX S9 but it has some issues that are holding it back mainly being the size of the kit lens and the lack of grip so let’s fix that! About This Video

The LUMIX S9 is still a camera I really, really like—but I had two gripes that were holding it back for me: the kit lens is comically big, and the body has basically no side grip. In this video I do the most “me” solution possible: I try to fix both problems with a couple simple add-ons and see if the S9 becomes something I actually want to carry. First, I get a little creative with lenses. I slap on a K&F Canon FD-to-L mount manual adapter and mount a vintage Canon FD 28mm f/3.5. It instantly makes the setup feel more pocketable (even if the adapter was chunkier than I expected), and yes—focus works and I can take photos. Then I install the SmallRig L-shaped handle that every influencer magically had months ago, and it immediately changes the ergonomics. It adds a tiny bit of height, but the camera becomes way more manageable in-hand. The real win was when I found my smaller FD 50mm f/1.8—suddenly the S9 turns into a setup I wouldn’t mind tossing in a bag.
