About This Video

I’m kinda tired of the Tech YouTube trend where someone says they’re “switching” from iPhone to Android (or the other way around) for a review… and then they don’t actually switch. So I actually did it. I moved from my iPhone 14 Pro to the Google Pixel Fold, swapped my Apple Watch Ultra for a Garmin Venu 3, and ditched my AirPods Pro 2 for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2. The only thing I didn’t drop is my MacBook Pro, because it’s work-provided and I’m on it every single day. Honestly, the switch was surprisingly easy. The biggest thing I miss is iMessage—if you’re in the United States, you already know it’s king, and going back to regular SMS in group chats is painful. But outside of that, Android has been pretty freaking awesome: the customization is great, and the Pixel Fold’s big flippy foldy screen is the whole reason I jumped. The other big surprise was realizing the Apple Watch Ultra was kind of wasted on me—I mainly use a watch for notifications, payments, and fitness tracking, and the Garmin Venu 3 does that in spades with better battery life and more built-in metrics. And for earbuds: if you’re on iPhone, AirPods are still the seamless pick, but purely on sound quality, the Buds beat the AirPods for me—and they play nicer with Android—so I’m sticking with them.
